april 8th, 2017: i'm in and taking roy with me

no shoe releases today. well, there are...there's always at least one. but this morning is about comic con. somehow i managed to get in a few minutes after opening. i tried to get a badge for jims friend so big money could go, but there was a bit of a problem and that didnt work. but olivia's setup to go next year so thats cool. and then waiting out to see how the rest of the group would fare. not bad overall.

while waiting through all that someone, somewhere bumped an old webos thread. i miss that little os.

a brief gym session. i tried that squat machine thing. i dont like it. and i feel like ill like it less later.

so, mattycollector shut down recently. im surprised i didnt know that. there were probably emails and such that got ignored. and it was probably a big thing at sdcc 2016, but i wasnt around for that panel. lots of things have been taken away this week. boo to that. the question though is how is that going to effect buying exclusives. my guess...negatively.

nxt. its the first time ever watched an event that i watched live. and mostly just from coincidence. and here i was thinking those opening matches were just something to entertain us.

there have been a handful of videos going around the youtubes about shoe guys selling their collections. and all for good reasons. in a lot of ways, its an awful hobby to get into. hobby may be the wrong word, but still. im probably going to do my count which should be around 90 and then go for 'grails' until 100. a lot of those 'just because' purchases are adding up and are far from favorites in some cases. though some were pleasant surprises, its just a bit much.
