february 3rd, 2017: battle for...supremacy?
a decent gym workout. i went back and forth on it before committing. in the end, it's been a pretty lacking week so i figure i should get in when i can.
work took an interesting turn today. it started with a 'talking stick' conversation and degenerated into an all out battle. i think it was for the best though. random converstion got us through the rest of the day.
el paso. again. before foreigner i hadnt been since the airport and now it's been twice in a week. doing a bit of useless running around before hitting tricky falls. i shouldve just stayed home. it wouldve saved time and i probably wouldnt have forgotten my camera nor had to buy earplugs. oh well.
the show was good. pkew pkew was new and had a pretty solid sound. little bit of a punkish rock type thing. something that youd expect from an early tony hawk soundtrack maybe. everything else was as expected. ballyhoo! played a really good set. one of the better ones ive seen in a while. its nice when bands are touring to support an album because they can just play what should be played.
this was the first show ive been to with other people in a while. there were 5 or so people from work. it was kinda weird. id planned on just hanging back and talking to those two older people through the night, but that only lasted two bands.
driving back and listening to the tales of perry saturn. that dudes had it hard.
