finding something to do

i dont have a lot going on. my time is mostly spent finding something to do...

january 23rd 2014: like a gazelle

the fray joined me for todays workout. another good choice and well-timed. those calmer albums really help keep things where i want them. its too bad ol' b dubbs couldnt try that out. it may have worked in his favor.

pasta night is a thing again so i did that. it was pretty good, but i was also hungry. so that went on for a while and then it was back to the work side for a basketball game and a little chitty chat.

taking in this weeks episodes of chozen and archer. chozens getting better and reminds me of undergrads and unsupervised in a few ways. to me those are good things. and another episode of criss angel.

i really wish that show were more serious. a different execution could make a big difference. same goes for his cirque show. compared to the others, i dont even think that fits the cirque world at all. i may have missed something though. but all in all, i still like what he does.

january 22nd 2014: robot wars

i went to the gym late today and the reasons didnt matter once i got there. today i went with the random music option and it was a nice little element of surprise.

not sure how this started, but the end was 4 or so of us deciding to get lego mindstorms to have a fight to the death. a combined 1400 dollars, but its for a good cause.

and as is a typical night i get home with enough time to piddle around before tnt. i decide to watch an episode of all about android which wasnt great. and by that i mean there was nothing of interest to me. roughly halfway through i stop that to watch tnt. that turned into a nap. i woke up and finished all about android. it was more of the same; nothing i cared for.

i finally decided to actually look into cancelling my serivce. i cant even remember the last time i turned on that cable box. and when i say turned on, i mean had power going to it. the online customer service tells me i have to call a phone number. i get the number and try to call but somehow im out of minutes to do that? i never understood how phone calls work here...this will have to wait for another day.

january 21st 2014: taking a ride in the death cab

one of those mid-day workouts that i seem to like so much. i thought about submarines, the deas vail, and settled on death cab for cutie. they are one of those bands that i keep around, rarely hear, but when i do i wish i them'd more. and it was the perfect length for that particular day.

and that death cab didnt stop there...today was a borderlands day. i hadnt realized, but we were pretty much done with the hunting dlc. glad for that since its terrible. well, not as good as the others. so we finished that eventually. lots of cloning and deaths.

that reminds me of a moment from earlier today. one of those quick dismiss jokes i do from time to time:

person a to person b: ill be two places at once. i was scheduled for this and that, so i gotta call this office.

me (overhearing/to person a): they have a cloner?

person a: what? (with sincerely confusion) / person b laughing as they see what just happened

me: nothing

funny stuff. the quick delivery and mannerisms behind this really bring it all together.

and apparently anthonys on t-mobile because his mms came through the google voice. as far as i know thats the only way that works. he found a springsteen human touch shirt from '92. nice.

january 20th 2014: no three-horns, just long-necks

one of the drawbacks to living here and not buying movies like i used to is that when i do want to watch something its not great or quick. the internet is awful here so downloading is slow. and streaming is possible at times, but the quality isnt great at all and then im pretty much stuck doing only that. internet-wise of course. so i kinda have to act in advance.

last night i started a download for machete kills so id have a time killer for today. it wasnt good. the first one wasnt exactly a good movie either, but it was what youd expect from something like that. this? well, i dont know...it just fell short.

somewhere in the day i found out that criss angel started a new show so i started getting that going. this reminded me of chozen. i also watched some more africa and saw a pretty intense giraffe battle.

for the first time in a while i bought some stuff on amazon. that trackball i wanted was finally on sale and i didnt want to pass that up. and also picked up some stuff for my package to big money.

criss angel's new show was what one would expect if they had seen mindfreak. the big thing is given away throughout the show and sprinkled with bad acting yet sometimes entertaining trickery. i think it should be done more like a reality show where he comes up with the idea and they show him getting ready. and then doing it. its kinda like that now but the focus isnt where it should be.

and chozen. well, that was unexpected. episode one wasnt amazing, but first episodes rarely are. it showed potential to be something worth adding to the list though.

so today was a lot of watching things, but i did take some time to clean my room a bit. vacuuming was way overdue

january 19th 2014: sub-zero's pretty cool

i spent the day pretty much recovering from my last day or two. there wasnt exactly a lot to recover from, this day was more just for doing nothing.

i had to make a trip to the store because id been neglecting that.

at some point in the last day or so i found myself wanting to watch 'now you see me.' luckily i thought that movie was good enough to own so i do. some time ago i got out of the sub 20 dollar impulse buys. partly for space, partly because the backlog was getting out of control. sometimes i still wish i did that though.

while in 'watch mode' yet not wanting to watch an actual movie, i put in africa. a solid reminder of how much i like those naturey things.

and i ended the night with a little figure talk with mad dogg. man, those motu stactions were quite awesome. perhaps cooler than sub-zero.
